Privacy Policy

Your health data is private — and we built this app from the ground up to keep it that way. This Privacy Policy explains what data Dawn Insight collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
1. What Data We Access
1.1 Blood Glucose Data
Dawn Insight requests permission to read blood glucose readings from Apple Health (HealthKit). This data originates from your continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and includes:
• Glucose values (in mg/dL or mmol/L)
• Timestamps associated with each reading
• Overnight glucose patterns used to detect the dawn phenomenon
We do not access any other HealthKit data categories. We only request access to what is strictly necessary to provide the app’s core functionality.
1.2 Data You Provide
The app may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as:
• Preferred glucose unit (mg/dL or mmol/L)
• In-app chat messages you send to the AI assistant
• Feedback or support requests submitted through the app
2. How Your Data Is Processed
2.1 On-Device Processing
All blood glucose data from Apple Health is processed entirely on your device. Raw glucose readings are never transmitted to our servers, to third parties, or to any cloud service.
The analysis engine — which computes your overnight glucose nadir, rise magnitude, pattern consistency, and Somogyi effect differentiation — runs locally in the app. Your raw CGM data stays on your iPhone.
3. Data Storage and Retention
All data processed by Dawn Insight is stored locally on your device using Apple’s secure storage mechanisms. We do not operate servers that store your personal or health data.
You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or using the “Delete All Data” option in Settings. Revoking HealthKit permissions via the iOS Health app will immediately prevent the app from accessing new glucose readings.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your health data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms.
5. Apple HealthKit Requirements
Dawn Insight complies with Apple’s HealthKit guidelines. In accordance with those guidelines:
• HealthKit data will not be used for advertising or data mining.
• HealthKit data will not be shared with third parties except as described in this policy and as necessary to provide the app’s services.
• HealthKit data will not be used to calculate insurance eligibility.
6. Children’s Privacy
Dawn Insight is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You have the following controls over your data:
• Revoke HealthKit access at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Health on your iPhone.
• Delete local app data by uninstalling the app or using the in-app option in Settings.
• Opt out of the AI chat feature entirely — all pattern analysis can be used without sending any data to the AI service.

Dawn Insight is designed for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. The information presented by this app should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.
Always consult your endocrinologist, diabetes care team, or other qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diabetes management.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this document and notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
